For Ci Demi’s introspective photobook No Offence If You Forget—a tender, years-long reflection on memory and healing—I created a layered, cutout book cover that transforms the object itself into an emotional landscape.
Inspired by map like textures, Istanbul's anatomy and the slow, uneven process of recovery, the design invites readers to peel through physical layers—mirroring the experience of navigating memory, and introspection.
As you flip through the book, photographs are partially revealed before being fully uncovered, echoing how fragments of life surface in moments of reflection.
This cover doesn’t explain the journey; it reflects it, acting as both shield and opening, diary and terrain. No Offence If You Forget is deeply personal for me and Ci Demi as our friendship has developed over the years of building on this project.
